I’m still not convinced that we will get any racing this year but making sure everything is ready in case. I was planning on racing the old birds on a double widowhood this year but because of not getting the lofts done until recently and the youngsters split in the 2 lofts and all the uncertainty around racing I am  going to keep them on natural.

I haven’t done any training yet but may have a couple soon. I have been through all the old birds and checked all their ETS rings and checked the pads are working. Baskets are clean and ready for use. The birds are looking and handling well.

These are the old birds in the Barcelona loft race team. All photos taken this afternoon.

They are all looking well especially considering what they were like January/February when they had paramyxovirus.

The unraced yearlings were mainly unraced due to the moult but all were well trained.

Looking very well, Andy.

As you say, it might be wishful thinking about getting any racing. This thing isn't over yet. But you do well to be prepared.

Some super pigeons in that loft, it must be frustrating not knowing what will happen.

Regards

Murray.

They look well Andy, a good looking team there. I think you are right keeping them on Natural this year now, it will be good to get them moving now just in case we get the green light.

@muzza

Yes it is frustrating Murray but it is what it is.

That’s the good thing with this venture, there’s no timescale to it. I’ll carry on doing what I can and we’ll still get there in the end Smile

Also being as its distance you are aiming for getting some age on the team won't hurt a bit.
