Hmmm. Its one of my Bicc Pau candidates (6 weeks) and 600 plus miles. Wouldnt want to send it if hes not in good feather. I guess I'm lucky that the feckin hawk only got a couple of feathers!!! If just a couple of feathers they should be fairly well grown again by Pau and shouldn’t affect his perfo...

The pools in the nationals is rarely won by the winner of the race. Pool money is often a lot more than the prize money for winning the race. We have a nom in our club. It’s for £10 each week out of club funds. One nom per member.

I would think it would help with streamlining and possibly balance but have had pigeons with very little tail due to the moult still fly well so not sure.

I was told just this last weekend by a fancier who has won most of the big races that as long as the tail feathers are a couple of inches long the bird will fly fine. They only use the tail when stopping.

Look at the difference in the sky. The liberation from the boat was terrible. Dark skies and birds going all ways, looked like some even flew into each other. Are these sea liberations from a ship that has anchored up for a couple of hours or so before release? I doubt it.
