having moved a number of birds on with 6 birds in 10ft loft and 8 birds in 8ft x 8ft loft the pairing up and there behaved is different this year from any other year
In what way mate
looks like 3 pairs that were to-gather last year have picked new mates one pair sire and daughter have paired up and have 2nd egg to-day both grizzles so Morgan is pleased the other hen which looks like paired up the cock don't sit the eggs when she comes off he don't go on them
Some birds do that I have one same but when eggs hatch he is there
that's hopeful Steve so when the hen leaves the nest for a few hrs are the eggs ok

If they are getting cold in the interim I doubt they will hatch unfortunately.

She never leaves longer than about 10 minutes or so
I did have a young hen that laid many years ago that didn’t have a mate. She sat the eggs right through on her own and hatched them. But as you said Steve she never left them for long. Only to feed and drink. Didn’t even exercise much. She still won the race when feeding small youngsters.
What a nice pair George love that hen
Nice photo George and a lovely looking pair.
Just as good George
