In Australia, most states pretty much have the corona virus under control. Strong rules have been set in place, people follow them, it works well.

In Victoria, where I live, the socialist leftist state government enforces the same rules, unless you are of several cultural or political persuasions. Then, maybe, not so much. There are people to be kept on side, and many people to be kept in the dark.

The result being there were practically no Covid 19 infections in Australia last week, except for Victoria, where there were many hundreds.

So the borders to other states are closed, the city of Melbourne is in shut down, and many politicians are looking like deer caught in the head lights.

If it wasn't so terribly serious, it would read like a comedy.

But it really isn't funny at all.

Regards

Murray.

So, the Bendigo Pigeon Federation, which isn't even a little bit as grand as it sounds Smile were going to race, no, send pigeons all the way to the Queensland border. You can look, but it is a long way.

Victoria is now in disgrace, so they cant drive over the border, unless they are in an ambulance. Maybe I shouldn't give them ideas. Wink

They decided to switch to another line, which will give them lots of races up to the top corner of Victoria. 200miles.

I put my hand up, I will look at that.

Except, they are starting this week, and mine are flying for 30 minutes after work, and haven't seen a hamper.

So, I will up the feed, get some tosses into them and see how we look in two or three weeks.

I am pretty certain they have let the virus get away in Victoria.

So we will see.

Regards

Murray.

Sorry to hear the virus seems to be spiking in Victoria, it always sounded like Australia and New Zealand had it sorted. I hope they manage to contain it mate 🤞🤞🤞

It will be great if you can a few races in Muzza, that distance sounds ideal 👍🤠

As for the Corona Virus I think most of the UK seem to think it's gone away and isn't coming back 🤯🤯, after all the tragic deaths we have had and all the efforts everyone put in to try and contain it since restrictions have been slackened/lifted some people just seem to have completely lost the plot. A lot of it is complete and utter selfishness and an I'm alright Jack attitude 😡😡

All the best and stay safe Muzza

I can see us having further outbreaks over here. I don’t think we will go back into complete lockdown but there could well be parts of the country shut down.

The pub opposite us and next door to us opened last Saturday. All the usual suspects. There was no social distancing, many staying far longer than supposed to  and by 10.00pm they were starting to fight. The landlords sent them home and shut up but they should never have let it get to that.

Hope they get some sort of control over there Murray and you manage to get a bit of racing in.

I must admit I did quite like the idea of racing again. I have some very good young birds, and some terrific yearlings and two year olds which have all been trained, but only a couple have raced.

They are in great health and flying very keenly, if only for 30 or 40 minutes. And then in 2 or 3 spells. I was thinking about getting them really into form. Change the feed a little, bang some tosses into them, over and over, some vitamins.....  Happy

But, the corona virus is like creeping death. There are cases in the Greater Bendigo region, leaking up from Melbourne. I think that in 4 or 5 days we will be locked down again.

No wonder people are really having some serious mental health issues. Many people have their lives crumbling around them

Sounds like they are more than ready for a few races Muzza 🤠👍

Sorry to hear its all getting a bit serious again around you, fingers crossed it doesn't geta as bad as you fear mate 🤞🤞 all can do is look after you and yours, thoughts are with you all.

As Andy said we will be in the same boat again soon due to those idiots who think they are invincible and don't give a flying fig about anyone else.

Stay safe my friend

Sadly, positive cases have doubled in Melbourne again overnight.

The government admit the three major clusters, at a halal slaughterhouse, an Islamic school and public housing towers, are all related.

They have known this for weeks, but only after it is out of control do they admit it, and start doing something about it! Displeased

No one cares what their culture is, apart from the lunatic left. When it became obvious where the problem is, there should have been a concerted effort to head it off.

These leftist nut cases would prefer you die than possibly offend someone

Murray.

So, I got a text from the Bendigo club today. They are hampering for the first race tonight, about 115 miles.

The message requested people not sending pigeons tonight to not go to the rooms. It was a bit firmer than that, but, near enough.

Now, I predict that by next Wednesday, the whole state will be locked down again. Things are closing down by the hour. By next Friday, I doubt they will be worrying about too many people at the pigeon club.

I sent a reply to that effect.

Haven't had a reply yet.

I was just putting them to bed, and picked up a few, blew the feathers off their breasts and ran my hand over them.

I was amazed! Smile Very surprised. These things are clean and shiny in the flesh, nice and buoyant, and are flying very well. I would say that these pigeons would rate 9/10. All they need is a few miles on the road to harden them up and focus the mind, and I think they would be competitive.

Not bad for pigeons which are on a plain mix with lots of grain and bugger all peas, and have never seen as much as a Disprin.

I have said it before, lots of times, pigeons often produce outstanding performances in spite of what we do to them, rather than because of what we do to them.

Murray.

Good to hear the birds are in great fettle Muzza, did you send any in the end ?? You are quite right Muzza nature will always do a better job of keeping creatures fitter and healthier than we can.

It is still very worrying times for all and sadly this virus is going nowhere soon, all we can do is try and look after ourselves and loved ones. As Buster says the world has gone mad and there is no cure idiocracy.

Stay well mate 👍

Because of a serious increase in COVID19 cases in Victoria, particularly the capital, Melbourne, the state has been put into another round of lock downs.

In Melbourne the restrictions are severe, with a curfew and a limit of 5 kilometres from your home, for essential medical and food supplies only. Army personnel are backing up the police. All schools are closed. Public transport is curtailed.

In the rest of the state, level 3 restrictions apply. You can go to work, if you cannot work from home. You can go to the shops. You can go for a walk with your family. Non essential travel is forbidden.

You cannot train or race your pigeons.

The authorities are at the end of their ability to listen to nonsense excuses.

I would not want to be sitting in a lay by with 2 hampers of pigeons, and have a police car pull up behind me. Displeased

@muzza

Wouldn’t be surprised if it goes back into lock down here. Cases are increasing again and people just aren’t obeying the guide lines.

Hope things improve over there soon Murray.

Stay safe.

Am I the only one who thinks that's this Is blown out of proportion?!

It's a fact we have been lied about the amount of cases (uk and USA 100%) they lied about how busy the hospitals are (video proof ) yes the vulnerable are at risk but so are they from the flu!

I always feel the goverment are never to be trusted they have their own agenda. No I might sound like one of them loopy people. Then again isn't anyone who fights the current made to seem that way .

Think for yourselves and speak up!

Where is the logic of its mandatory to wear a mask in the supermarket (uk) and in restaurants you dont have to.schools are opening back up too. So does that mean the virus will only stay in supermarkets !

They have scared people into thinking we have a killer virus that is unstoppable. We have been advised to use ANTIBACTERIAL hand sanitizer for a virus! That is complete nonsense in itself . And applying all that hand sanitizer surely some will start to get into tour blood stream .

If you are elderly or have a underlying health condition, just like with the flu season .you need to be careful.

I have seen a change in peoples behaviours where social interactions have changed dramatically and surely that ain't good in a world where there is vast division already .
