Today I spent sometime in the garden. We’ve got a fairly large tree in the garden. Since moving the loft it has been a slight problem. Only because it has got quite big and when in full leaf the youngsters in particular have to fly around it when coming out. It also cuts a lot of the sunlight on the lofts during the summer.

So today I decided to give it a trim 😂
I wanted to do it before it started shooting. I’ve probably taken it down by about 10 feet. I had to climb up into the tree and cut the branches down with a saw. Now all I’ve got to do is tidy up the mess 😂😂. We can’t have a bonfire so I’ve got to cut it up and put it into bags and take it to the dump. Going to have to wait until next Sunday before I can clear anymore.
Well done mate a good days work there, I remember about 3 years ago just before second loft went up there was a massive Christmas tree that had taken over the garden had to come down, it had grown over the neighbours as much as in my garden, only problem now is the ground gets so wet as no tree to absorb it
Another good job done Andy, nothing like climbing up trees. But these days the next day every joint kills me 😂😂
should not need doing now for a while.
Too right there Rich. I’m 60 next year and should be getting to old to climb trees 😂. I ache already 😂😂. Fortunately Roxanna was in doors so didn’t see me up in the tree hanging on to branches while reaching out and cutting others down. She would have had a fit if she had seen me 😂.

Good job bro, must have brought back memories of our days up the clump
I think I'd have gone a bit harder though and pollarded it completely going right back to the crown probably would have done that with a chainsaw though not a pruning saw

Bet that took some clearing up mate
Certainly did, the neighbours said it had been there around 30 years so you can imagine the size, did come in useful when hawks/falcons after the birds and that is my only regret in taking down, but next door did nothing but moan and complain even though we never planted it so for peace and quite down it came
