The pied gene, including W/F can appear at anytime. More likely to appear where either or both parents have pied in them but not always.

I have a left sided W/F gene runs through mine. Regularly I get one with one or more white flights on the left wing only. Even from two solid blue parents.

I am good! They aren't firing rubber bullets at me. Yet.

I still thought 5 ybs with w/f from 4 pairs with no pied in the sire or dam was a bit strange maybe the odd one but  not 5 from 8

That's the strange thing about genetics, isn't it George?

You get a heap of white flights come out in this round, but might get hardly any in the next round.

My little 600 mile hen is a solid blue chequer and her mate is a blue bar with a left wing white flight.

After two rounds of blues, including a blue chequer cock with a left wing white flight, they had a wee surprise baby that is gay pied!

There are so many genetic combinations, and that's just the colours! No wonder it's hard to breed a champion.

The class shouldn’t really be called colours, I we do ours as well, but all pigeons are colours, be they Red, Blue, Black ect. What these classes should be called is Pieds and Grizzles. W/F are a Pied so should be included.

@rainbow if we do our shows again this year we will rename the colours as Pieds and Grizzles.

Bred those whiteflights together for 4 /5 generations and you will end up breeding what looks like pure white..only trouble will be cocks will lose size and some turn queer...you see
